Who knew making cutting boards could be so much fun! You get to design them, choose which wood to use, and have it completed in a few days. Although there are MANY steps to the process, it is really enjoyable to see the finished board -- something made by hand that others love!

We make each board one at a time, unlike those who use a “production line” type of system. Each piece of wood is hand selected for every board we make, keeping in mind that each piece has its own characteristics.  All of our wood is sustainably sourced, and all but the exotic woods are locally harvested and milled. Some, we have actually milled ourselves with the help of a woodworking friend!

After the glue-up we plane, jointer, trim router the edges, router the side handles, and use a four-step hand sanding process on each board. This ensures the board is as flawless and smooth as possible, while adding some TLC! The boards are hand-rubbed with food grade mineral oil and after drying, buffed with warm Bees Wax to give an extra layer of protection against moisture. If wanted, we add feet to the bottom and a container of wax is given along with each board to maintain its original beauty.
